![]() It’s an ok stay if you just need a couple of nights. The room was very damp-like and the hair dryer and other certain things in the room were sticky/dusty but over all not bad. I did notice a few light stains on the sheets/one of the towels. It smelled clean, as if they dowsed the room in some type of spray, the sheets were ok clean. That could just be me being a little grossed out but, whatever. I did wear sandals in the shower, though, even though my boyfriend didn’t. They could dust and vacuum the place a lot better. A few other spiders behind the nightstand. I noticed a cob web and a live spider in its web in the corner of the shower. There was random hair in the bath tub and it just didn’t “feel” as clean as it should of been. No maggots, no bed bugs, and no old underwear from previous occupants, like I’ve read in the reviews. We walked into the room and was instantly relieved. The guy who checked us out wasn’t as friendly, but not mean in anyway. The woman that checked us inwas very friendly. I was surprised when I walked into the lobby. I was EXTREMELY nervous about this motel from all of the reviews that I have read prior. What seemed really strange to me was that the room had new carpeting and there was new floor tile in the bathroom - reminds me of the expression "you can't polish a turd".… The windows facing the courtyard have been updated, but the ones in the back are still the original wood ones and I could feel the cold air coming in - the heat unit never had a chance. This was mid-October, so can't begin to imagine how miserable it is in the winter. I had it on full blast all night and I don't think it even got to 70. With every place on it sagging down or poking up at you, there's no comfortable place to lay. I asked the owner's wife if any of the units had better mattresses and she said, "No - they're all the same". I don't think any of the mattresses have been replaced since this owner bought the place, so I suspect they're about 20 years old and they feel like it. It was clear that the continental breakfast would be in the tiny office, with a few chairs but no tables to sit at - in other words just as sad as the rest of this dump, so I didn't even consider it. The owner is taciturn and not at all informative - unless you take the initiative. We’re sure you’ll enjoy your stay at Rodeway Inn as you experience all of the things Rutland has to offer.
